What is a Sensitive Soul?

Soul sensitivity can seem so nebulous and subjective, it's hard to pin down. So, starting with the opposite helps define it. A not sensitive person has a naturally stable nervous system. They have a low or average awareness of (and openness to) invisible and unspoken transmissions of feelings, intent, meaning, or what is around the corner. In other words, their intuition is dialed low. Non-sensitives tend to be more thinking than feeling. Much more doing and analyzing than energetically knowing or being. Their primary reality is the 3D world they can see, hear, taste, touch, smell, calculate, comprehend, or control.

Being sensitive is a combination of in-born personality and our earliest experiences and how we respond to them, both at the time and later in life. Ironically, some of us who are so tuned in to invisible energies and incoming information aren't always aware of how sensitive we are until later in life. It took me years to realize and accept this aspect in myself. Now, I can see my primarily 3D upbringing as a useful part of the whole keyboard of my life awareness. It also helps me talk to more people, sensitives and not, in ways they can understand.

What increasingly interests me is forging the path from being unconsciously sensitive to consciously and self-sovereignly so. It's exploring how we can go from being reactive and automatic in our responses to being freshly responsive and powerfully intentional with our heightened awareness.

I know that some highly aware people still see their sensitivity as a curse and a cage. I increasingly see it as a high-end custom vehicle I get to drive through life, learning its nuances and vulnerabilities, and exploring its superpowers.

How do you see yourself as a sensitive soul? How would you like to?
